Many women are eager to experience motherhood for a number of reasons. For some, they want to experience the beauty of motherhood, while others want to expand their family with their partner. It is likely most women’s hope that they’d get pregnant as soon as they started trying but that isn’t always the case. Seeing as there is no magic wand that enables you to get pregnant as quickly as you’d like, at times it may take a little longer than anticipated for your bun to form in the oven. There are, however, some things that you can do that may help speed up the process. Every woman’s fertility is different, so while some may get pregnant shortly after they begin trying, it could take others a little bit longer.  For this reason, you will find 3 practical things that you can do to increase your fertility in the following article.

Keep Your Body Healthy

One of the first things that you should do when trying to increase your fertility is to assess your health. You should have a look at your diet as well as your exercise routine and see where you can make necessary changes. To begin, there are certain foods that you should eat that could increase your chances of getting pregnant. Some include switching animal protein such as beef, pork and chicken with vegetable protein sources such as cooked dried beans and nuts. The reason for this is that the risk of ovulatory infertility is said to drop by more than 50 percent when at least 5 percent of your total calories come from vegetable protein. It is also recommended that you consume high-fat dairy as low-fat dairy can also increase the risk of ovulatory infertility. Other foods to consider include protein, iron, zinc, vitamin C, and Vitamin D, as well as meat, fish, low-fat dairy products, and eggs. Additionally, you could get multivitamin supplements from your doctor to help as well.

Try at the Right Time

Another way to increase your fertility is to try at the right time. This time differs from woman to woman, so it’s important that you’re conversant with your cycle. You should try and figure out when you’re likely ovulating as well as when you are likely to be the most fertile. This will give you an indication of when you should be having sex and increase your chances of getting pregnant quicker. If you find that despite trying repeatedly, you still aren’t having any luck, then you may want to consider surrogacy as an option. It usually works with a surrogate mother being implanted via IVF with an embryo created from your egg, but you can click here for more information.

Have More Sex

This may seem a little obvious, but you’re likely to increase your fertility when you have more sex. As aforementioned, having sex at the right time is key, but you should also try and increase the frequency. When trying to increase your chances of getting pregnant, you should also think about avoiding certain lubricants, especially ones such as Astroglide, K-Y jelly, and olive oil as they can decrease sperm motility and viability. Instead, you could replace them with mineral oil or canola oil.

No matter how long it takes you to get pregnant, you should try not to get discouraged. Everyone’s journey is different, so try and focus on doing things that will increase your fertility. There are many other things you can try outside of the ones mentioned above. Hopefully, by doing the right things and remaining hopeful, you’ll be pregnant in no time.
