As a mom, it can be hard to find time for yourself. You’re always running around after the kids, and your partner; looking after them, cooking and cleaning, buying them everything they need, and making sure your home looks great. You may even be working a job on top of all your other commitments. However, treating yourself occasionally, is incredibly important. You need to take some time out for yourself every now and then to re-energize, re-charge and give yourself a fantastic confidence boost, and make you feel like you again, instead of just mommy. Here are ten of the best ways to treat yourself.

Get a Haircut

Booking into a salon, such as this hair salon Hanover PA, is one of the best ways to spend your ‘me time’. There aren’t many feelings better than treating yourself to a haircut, or a new style. It’s a great way to get pampered and do something for yourself.

Get a Massage

The stress of motherhood can really take it out of you, leaving you feeling tense and stressed out. Getting a massage, or even a full day in the spa, is a wonderful way of releasing tension and recharging your batteries.

Read a Book

Most of us read a lot less once we have had children. There’s just always something more important to do than read. However, it’s such as easy way of escaping reality and living in someone else’s shoes for a while.

Take a Long Bath

This is another thing we rarely have time for once we’ve had children. Take an hour out, and have a long and luxurious soak in a bubble bath.

Exercise

It might not sound very relaxing, but exercise has so many benefits, not least giving you a great adrenaline boost, improving your mood, increasing your confidence, and helping to release stress and tension. Go for a run, swim, or even a long walk when you get a chance. If you can’t get out of the house, do a fitness video on YouTube once the kids are in bed.

Paint Your Nails

Painting your finger and toenails is an exceptionally easy way to change your whole look. If you can find the time, give yourself a full manicure and pedicure.

Have a Pamper Night

Put the kids to bed early, and enjoy having some you time. Order a takeout, watch your favorite DVD, and fill an evening with all your favorite things.

Buy Yourself a Gift

Buy something that’s just for you; not something the family needs. It doesn’t have to be big or expensive, even a small treat can help you to feel fabulous.

Get Dressed Up

Even if it’s just for a family dinner out, put on your favorite outfit, makeup and shoes, and dress for a special occasion. Looking good makes you feel amazing.

Do Nothing

Take 10 minutes, and do absolutely nothing. Sit down, shut your eyes, and take a deep breath. Let the calm wash over you, and enjoy just being. If you can do this every day, you’ll feel much more relaxed.

Whatever you choose, don’t feel guilty. Remind yourself that you deserve a break. It’ll make you a better, more relaxed parent.
