Children are notoriously difficult travelers. However, spending a holiday traveling with your children can help you bond as a family. All you have to do is plan your trip beforehand to include lots of fun-filled adventures and activities to keep your kids busy.

Europe is one of the best places for the whole family to explore. With child-friendly vacations increasing in demand, it’s quite easy to have an amazing tour as long as you know where to go. Check out these great family-friendly European destinations.

London, UK

This famed city of rain and mist has never failed to captivate visitors. It doesn’t rain every day, though, and even if it does rain, it’s still pretty easy to keep children entertained.

For starters, a guided tour of iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the London Dungeon, and the Tower of London should rank high on your itinerary. London is also home to a plethora of museums, most of which grant free access to children. Your brood will enjoy interacting with robots at the Science Museum, and will be amazed and amused by the vast collection of books, clothing, and other artifacts displayed at the Museum of Childhood.

London does not disappoint when it comes to outdoor activities. Animal lovers will adore London Zoo as well as the Sea Life London Aquarium. You should also check out the huge pirate ship at the Princess Diana Memorial Playground at Kensington Gardens.

You can access most of these places via the London Underground or by road. Accommodation is also easy to come by in the city, and you can choose from a selection of London vacation apartments, hotels, and rentals, depending on your budget.

Paris, France

Although the City of Lights is a popular destination for lovers, it also has lots to offer families with children in tow.

Start by taking a trip to the very top of the Eiffel Tower and give your children a bird’s eye view of the city. After this, catch a show at the Cirque d’Hiver (“Winter Circus”), a major venue for circuses, musical concerts, and other numerous forms of entertainment.

Book a boat ride down the River Seine with on-board entertainers regaling your children with stories as you enjoy panoramic views of the city. For a special treat, book a ticket to a special children’s show at the Aquarium de Paris Cinéaqua. This aquarium features an underwater tunnel, a petting pool, and a two-screen cinema where children can watch cartoons. Alternatively, let your children have their fill of animals at the Ménagerie at the Jardin des Plantes.

Other ideal places for kids in Paris include the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Parc de la Villette, and Disneyland Paris. Don’t forget to take them shopping for souvenirs along the Canal Saint Martin.

Majorca, Spain

If you are looking for the perfect summer vacation destination, then Majorca is the place to go. With numerous world-class seaside resorts, this Spanish Balearic island has plenty to offer both children and adults.

Popular child-friendly seaside resorts in Majorca include the lively Palma Nova, Cala D’Or, Puerto Pollensa, and Alcudia. All these offer long, pine-fringed sandy beaches and a wide range of water sports. Your children can frolic on the beach while you doze off or bury your nose in a book under a beach umbrella.

For a fun family day out, head to either the Palma Aquarium or Marineland. The latter has penguins, dolphins, and even a pirate ship. Your kids can also splash around in one of the various waterparks in the area. These include the Hidropark in Alcudia, Aqualand El Arenal, or the Western Water Park in Magaluf.

Whether they’re exploring the upside-down house and magic forest at the Katmandu Adventure Park or the enticing battlements at Palma’s Bellver Castle, your children are sure to have an amazing time at Majorca.

Rome, Italy

Rome is another fantastic destination worth visiting. You and your children are sure to relish loitering around this city, uncovering its rich history. The best way to cover a lot of ground is by using the hop-on hop-off bus as it goes by most of the major attractions.

For a more up-close-and-personal look at the sights, book a guided tour of Ancient Rome and take your kids on an unforgettable visit to the majestic Pantheon, the Colosseum, the Forum, and the Trevi Fountain.

Make sure you include a visit to St. Peter’s Square and the Vatican, a climb up the Spanish Steps, as well as an afternoon of people-watching and food sampling at the Piazzo Navona.

These are just a few of the wonderful European destinations waiting for you and your family. Book your trip today and give your children a vacation they’ll never forget.
