I admit I didn’t imagine being a stay at home mom until I held my first-born in my arms. Then I couldn’t imagine leaving her.
But I hadn’t planned for that. I had, up till then, planned on returning to work after my three-month leave.
So, what was I going to do now? I didn’t know how to become a work at home mom.
Let me tell you, I got busy! I started researching, and hustling, and planning, and implementing. It was a pretty stressful time, but I’m happy to say, I eventually came home in 2010. And I’ve been home ever since.
So, what’s my secret? How did I do it?
It began with a decision to start a blog.
And it also started with Bloggy Moms.
It was one of the first blogging communities I joined and it was one of my favorite outlets.
I met so many other moms here and have made lasting friendships online.
I also learned so much from Bloggy Moms creator, Tiffany, and the different groups on the site. I learned how to start a blog, how to make money from my blog, how to get Facebook and Twitter followers, and how to promote my blog—all from Tiffany and group members being willing to share their knowledge.
And as I grew in my blogging knowledge, I started to share what I knew. Now 9 years (and about 7 blogs) later, I’m still home with my kids and earning a good income from blogging.
I encourage you to get involved on Bloggy Moms—make friends, join the groups and challenges, and share what you know. You’ll be glad you did!
