While visiting Myrtle Beach to enjoy the sand and waves – take an afternoon to swing, climb and zip through the trees at Go Ape Treetop Adventure Course! We did just that on our recent trip to Myrtle Beach, and loved every thrilling moment.  If you enjoy getting out of your comfort zone and being active, this is the adventure for you!

What is Go Ape?

“A Go Ape Treetop Adventure Course is an outdoor experience that provides participants 2-3 hours of outdoor fun and exercise. The result is spectacular. The course allows participants to explore North Myrtle Beach Park from an otherwise unobtainable vantage point while navigating through the treetops using zip lines, obstacles and tarzan swings.”

Essentially, it’s a series of tree-based obstacle courses. Very high off of the ground with a rewarding view.

Our adventure started by getting our gear then participating in a safety briefing and training.   After pulling on our harnesses, pulleys, and carabiners – we were off!  Flying, swinging, and zipping through the forest as well as over water was exhilarating.  Though it took a little more than an hour to complete the course, the moment seemed to fly by, literally.

If the thought of climbing through the trees and trying to conquer obstacles along the way make you a little nervous, keep in mind that instructors are always on hand.  The training was also very comprehensive – which was reassuring as we had never experienced this type of activity.

The Go Ape Treetop Adventure in Myrtle Beach also offered a Junior Course for the younger adventurer.  Be sure to check the age and height requirements and then schedule your family’s adventure!

Worried about your child’s reaction to the course?  The instructor’s were amazing and made it a point to talk to each child and call them by name and encourage them through the course.  When any fears came up, they were right there to help.
