A fresh blueberry pie with a lattice crust is the perfect addition to your summer cookout!

Homemade Blueberry Pie

One of our all-time favorite desserts to round out the perfect summer picnic.

What you’ll need:

White granulated sugar
Cornstarch
Cinnamon
Salt
Fresh Blueberries
Pie crusts
Butter

Mixing Bowls, Rolling Pin, Scoop, Pie Plate, Knife,

Prep Time 30 minutes
Cook Time 45 minutes
A fresh blueberry pie with a lattice crust is the perfect addition to your summer cookout!

Ingredients

  • ¾ C granulated sugar
  • 3 Tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 4 C fresh blueberries (or thawed frozen)
  • 2 9-inch pie crusts
  • 1 Tbsp butter

Instructions 

  • Place oven rack in lowest position
  • Preheat oven to 375° F (190° C)
  • In bowl, mix together sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt
  • Place blueberries in separate bowl. Sprinkle above mixture over blueberries.
  • Place bottom pie crust in pie plate. Crimp and flute the edges.
  • Scoop blueberry pie filling into crust.
  • Cut second pie crust into ½-inch wide strips. Weave into a latice over the blueberry pie filling. Crimp the edges.
  • Place pie on bottom rack and bake until golden brown and bubbling. Approximately 45 minutes.
