So, I spent the last 12 months trying to decide how I wanted to DIY a beautiful hutch that I purchased on the Facebook Marketplace. I loved the style – but not the color of the wood.
I had purchased it with the intention of painting the base white and then adding wood to the top. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize until I got it home – that it wouldn’t fit in my kitchen where I had wanted it.
So, I had to keep my original kitchen hutch and find a different place for this new-to-me piece. It ended up in the dining room – where it only enhanced all of the golden, warm wood that was already in that space. If you know me, I dislike golden, honey-toned wood (at least on large pieces). And between the floor, my table and now this hutch – I was on warm-tone overload.
I asked you what I should do – since I didn’t want to redo both of the hutches in the same way. There were a lot of great suggestions – but here’s what I ended up going with.
I gave myself a deadline of the end of the year to make a decision and get it done. I was heavily leaning toward painting it black – and then I had a little nudge. Riverbend Home reached out and that’s when I knew that this project was a go!
